How do I install the Chrome extension?
Download the Keynou Drive Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store or directly from our website at drive.keynou.com/chrome-extension. Click 'Add to Chrome' and the Keynou Drive icon will appear in your browser toolbar. The extension uses your existing drive.keynou.com website session for authentication - no separate login or password is required. If you are signed in to Keynou Drive in your browser, the extension works immediately. The extension is built on Manifest V3 (the latest Chrome extension standard) and is compatible with all Chromium-based browsers including Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera. Installation takes under 30 seconds and the extension is free for all users, including free-tier accounts.
Can I shorten links without opening the dashboard?
Yes. The Chrome extension lets you shorten any URL without navigating to the Keynou Drive dashboard. Click the extension icon on any page to shorten the current tab's URL, or right-click any link on any page and select 'Shorten with Keynou Drive' from the context menu. The short link is copied to your clipboard automatically, ready to paste into emails, social media, or chat. You can also specify a custom back-half (slug) for your short link directly in the extension popup. The extension shows your recently created short links in the popup, so you can quickly copy or share them again. This workflow saves significant time for marketers and affiliate marketers who create dozens of short links per day.
Does the extension work with custom domains?
Yes. The extension uses your connected custom domains automatically. Short links created via the extension are identical to those created in the dashboard - same branding, same analytics, same splash pages. When you have multiple custom domains connected, the extension lets you select which domain to use for each short link. The extension also supports custom back-halves (slugs), so you can create go.yourbrand.com/summer-sale directly from the extension popup. All links created via the extension appear in your dashboard with full analytics, including clicks, geographic data, device breakdowns, and referrer information. There is no difference between extension-created and dashboard-created links - they use the same API and the same infrastructure.
Can I see my recent links in the extension?
Yes. The extension popup shows your most recently created short links, so you can quickly copy or share them again without navigating to the dashboard. The recent links list displays the short URL, the original destination URL, and the click count for each link. You can click any recent link to copy it to your clipboard, or click the analytics icon to open the full analytics view in the dashboard. The recent links list is synced with your account, so it is available on any browser where you have the extension installed and are signed in. This feature is particularly useful for marketers who need to reuse campaign links across multiple platforms or share them with team members quickly.
