Privacy-First

Privacy-First URL Shortener

Your data stays yours. We never sell clicks, analytics, or user information. GDPR-compliant data handling with transparent privacy policies.

Privacy is not a feature - it's a principle

Most URL shorteners are free because they monetize your data. Every click, every redirect, every visitor is tracked, profiled, and sold to advertisers, data brokers, or analytics networks. You get a free shortener; they get a firehose of behavioral data from everyone who clicks your links.

Keynou Drive takes a different approach. We charge for our service because we don't sell your data. The analytics you see in your dashboard are for your eyes only - we don't aggregate them, we don't share them, and we don't sell them. Period.

This matters more than ever. With GDPR, CCPA, and growing public awareness of data privacy, using a shortener that respects privacy isn't just ethical - it's a compliance requirement for many organizations. Government agencies, healthcare companies, and enterprise IT teams need a shortener they can trust with sensitive click data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Keynou Drive sell my data?

No. Keynou Drive is privacy-first - we never sell your click data, analytics data, user information, or visitor data to any third party. Your data is yours and remains yours. We do not place tracking cookies on your visitors, we do not share analytics with advertising networks, and we do not use your data for our own marketing purposes. This is a fundamental difference from competitors like Bitly, whose business model includes data monetization. For organizations with strict data governance requirements - government agencies subject to GDPR, healthcare companies subject to HIPAA, or enterprises with data sovereignty mandates - Keynou Drive's privacy-first approach provides significantly stronger data protection. We believe that a URL shortener should redirect links, not monetize the data generated by those redirects.

Is Keynou Drive GDPR compliant?

Yes. We follow GDPR-compliant data handling practices, including data minimization (we only collect what is needed for the service), transparent privacy policies, the right to data export, and the right to data deletion. You can request a full data export or complete account deletion at any time from your dashboard or by contacting support@keynou.com. Account deletion is permanent and irrecoverable, and includes all short links, analytics data, and personal information. We do not transfer data to third countries without appropriate safeguards. Our privacy policy is written in plain language and clearly explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how long we retain it. For enterprise customers, we can provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and support GDPR compliance audits.

Do you use tracking cookies on redirected visitors?

No. We do not place tracking cookies on visitors who click your short links. We track aggregate click data (count, country, city, device type, browser, operating system, referrer) for your analytics dashboard, but we do not profile individual visitors or build visitor identity graphs. The geographic and device data is derived from the HTTP request headers and IP address at the moment of the click, and is not correlated across multiple clicks or linked to a persistent visitor identifier. This means that your clickers' privacy is protected while you still get meaningful analytics. For comparison, some URL shorteners place tracking cookies on visitors to build cross-site browsing profiles, which raises privacy concerns under GDPR and CCPA.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on secure servers with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. All API requests and dashboard interactions use HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Database connections are encrypted. Backups are encrypted and stored in geographically separated locations for disaster recovery. We do not transfer data to third countries without appropriate legal safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Our infrastructure runs on Docker containers behind an nginx reverse proxy, with firewall rules restricting access to only necessary ports. Database access is restricted to authenticated application servers only - no direct external database access is permitted. For enterprise customers with specific data residency requirements (e.g., EU-only data storage), contact us at support@keynou.com to discuss available options.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the dashboard under Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and irrecoverable, and includes all short links, analytics data, custom domain configurations, API keys, and personal information. Once you confirm deletion, your data is purged from our database within 24 hours and from backups within 30 days. If you prefer to export your data before deleting, you can download a full data export (links, analytics, account information) in JSON or CSV format from the dashboard. You can also contact support@keynou.com to request data deletion or export on your behalf. We comply with GDPR right-to-erasure requests within 30 days, though in practice deletion is typically completed within 24 hours.
